Jackie Sandler Delivers Second-to-None Performance in Daddy Daughter Trip
Jackie Sandler, wife of actor and comedian Adam Sandler, is participating in what could become a new era in film production and distribution. Jackie’s newest release, Daddy Daughter Trip, is being dubbed a “church release” by Movie Night Ministries, a new ministry that made the film available for showings at churches at the same time it was released to theaters.
The film depicts Larry Bublé, played by Rob Schneider, as a hapless inventor who can’t afford to take his daughter on a spring break trip. After trying to come up with fun activities that don’t cost anything—and failing miserably—Larry gets a little help from above.
The result is a family adventure film full of gut busting comedy. David McPherson, founder of Movie Night Ministries, recently interviewed Rob Schneider about Daddy Daughter Trip. One of the topics they discussed was Jackie’s performance as a supportive wife and mother.
Rob commented, “Jackie did a great job in the movie. It is perhaps the most natural of all her performances, because Jackie is already a loving mother to her children and a great wife to Adam. There is a scene where she has to comfort her daughter, Meara, and she was perfect. She nailed the scene in one take!”
In market studies among church leaders, Jackie’s performance was identified as an inspiration for wives whose husbands might be going through something difficult. They also noted that the film depicts a mother who wholeheartedly supports a healthy father-daughter relationship, something America could use more of.
During the interview, Rob also touched on his motivations for releasing the film to churches. “The goal of Movie Night Ministries is to help churches have healthy, positive interaction with the communities around them. When churches and the people around them are coming together for fun, joyful community events, that makes our communities stronger. So I was very happy to take part in this effort.”
Rob also explains, “There’s something about laughter that creates lasting memories and brings us together. And we made this film for people to enjoy together. Daddy Daughter Trip has no agenda. It’s just a fun, very clean movie, and hey, I had to make it that way. My daughter is in the movie!”
Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church recently hosted a Lakewood Movie Night event with Daddy Daughter Trip. Their post-event survey showed a 93% overall satisfaction rate with the film, which was much higher than average.
This new opportunity provides churches with the ability to build a bridge with non-churchgoers in their local communities. Movie Night Ministries has also partnered with FunFlicks to help facilitate video screen and projection equipment that are suitable for everything from small indoor gatherings to large outdoor events.
So if you like Rob Schneider, Jackie Sandler, John Cleese, and good family comedy, ask your pastor about having a community movie night event. Then grab some popcorn, invite your neighbors, and have a fun family-friendly movie night at church!
